We need some parent help to make Read Across America week a huge success. Please visit the sign up links below for two events we need help with.
Friday, March 11th 6-9PM – Save the date for OLG’s Inaugural Wine Tasting Social (see attached flyer that was also sent in the family envelope). This is a special opportunity to raise funds for our school while having fun and strengthening our parent community! Two key things to highlight for this event:
1) The event cost to attend the event: $25 per family OR bottle of wine $25 retail value. The money/wine raised from this social event will be used for auction items for OLG’s Silent Auction.
2) There will also be opportunity to buy cases of the wines we will be tasting at the event. 15% of sales proceeds of any wine cases purchased at the event will be given back to OLG School and will be specifically used towards OLG’s Young At Art Program.
If any parents have any questions, please feel free to contact Jan Vega ([email protected]).

We will provide a light snack at 3:00pm.
Dear Our Lady of Guadalupe School,
Last week we had a wonderful turn-out for TK/Kinder Info night and today our junior high students traveled to St. Joseph’s Catholic School for their Mock Academic Decathlon. As a principal, I was proud of our decathletes for representing their school so well. They were well-prepared, respectful, and enjoyed the opportunity to train with Decathletes from other schools. We are looking forward to hosting February’s Mock Decathlon here at OLG with the actual Academic Decathlon taking place Sunday, March 13th at the Walter Pyramid Center in Long Beach.
Our second graders had a field trip to the Natural History Museum, and our fifth graders will take a walking field trip to the Hermosa Beach Library this week. Our basketball teams (all 4 of them!) are now in full swing and next week we celebrate Catholic Schools Week. Whew!

Mrs. April Beuder
Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your loved ones.
It is so great to be blessed with a school filled with children, families, and teachers that spread the LOVE every day. I want each and every one of you to know how much I LOVE working with you. It warms my heart to see your beautiful child walk through our doors every day, I am blessed!
Even though February is the shortest month of the year we have much going on! It is the international month of friendship, which we will honor with discussions, stories, and encouragement on how to show love to our friends. The children will be encouraged to speak kindly to one another, they will
practice inviting friends to work together, and engage in many activities that promote teamwork,
kindness, and taking turns. Our Valentine curriculum will feature many art explorations using theme colors and heart shapes to decorate our classroom.
